This is a very brief overview of "some" NSU models. For more detailed information see the links section.

This is what started it all. NSU originally made sweaters. I shot this photo at the NSU museum in Germany. Any NSU clothing still out there?

During the Weimar Republic, NSU set records for most Motorcycles & Bicycles produced. Bikes like this could sustain 80 M.P.H. It was made on Germany's first assembly line.

Half tank & half bike? During WWII NSU made these for the war effort. Hitler didn't like the fact that an English man was one of the head engineers so they used Opel engines!
1930s brought Great Bicycles from NSU with a "New" freewheeling brake hub. Bikes were produced long after the war.

At one time the Quickly was Germanys best selling moped with over a million sales. Famous American Jazz star Louis Armstrong owned and promoted them.
NSU made several scooters early in their history. Most were Lambrettas under license but the "5 Star" was pure NSU with an electric start and foglight!
NSU is famous for 2 things. One is their line of lightweight and fast motorcycles. The Max & Maxi line of Bikes some of the best made pressed frame bikes in the world. The Super offered a OHC and plunger rear suspension.

This is NSU first post war venture from 2 wheels into 4. The first Prinz cars (all NSU cars were named Prinz but 2) by the standards of small cars the time are considered the "Cadillac" of micros.

Slick, fast Sport coup? Nope just a repackaged sedan with Italian design and a ever so slightly faster motor. Bertone design and built some of the first cars. They proved popular with women.
Covair? 2002? Nope! NSU later switched to this popular style and larger conventional 4 cylinder engines. The later Prinz cars are fast and nimble. A clutch job takes 20 min.!!

The Spider is the first rotary powered production car. They are extremely small and use lots of gas. Companies all over the world purchased them to see how they worked.
The RO is a very refined 4 door, rotary engine with inboard brakes and a clutchless shifter. Unfortunately this is the reason NSU went broke due to its somewhat faulty engine. Its design is historicaly significant.
